Cyber Informed is an independent cyber security consultancy led by Darren Arnott, CISSP, with more than 25 years of experience in IT and over 15 years specialising in cyber security. Darren combines senior advisory and governance experience with a strong hands-on technical background, including penetration testing and technical security assessment.

His work spans cyber security strategy, governance and risk, virtual CISO/CSO engagements, security assessments, executive reporting, security improvement programs and specialist technical assurance. His advisory experience also covers IT, operational technology (OT) and SCADA environments, as well as the cyber security aspects of AI transformation projects. Darren works across boards, executives, business teams, internal IT and external service providers, helping organisations turn complex security challenges into practical decisions and achievable improvements.

Darren's work through Cyber Informed includes designing a cyber security control performance measurement framework for a large Australian enterprise, defining how control performance and effectiveness would be measured and reported to executives. His experience also includes virtual CSO leadership, cyber security governance, risk management, Essential Eight uplift and Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) audit readiness.

Darren is also a published author and conference speaker. His experience spans government, financial services, healthcare, education, retail, food production, utilities and the not-for-profit sector.
